Man City beat Madrid and Barca to World Cup honour

Pep Guardiola will be rather pleased that 16 members of his squad will be playing on football's biggest international stage. However, one player that won't will be Leroy Sane, after the winger was controversially left out of Germany's 23-man squad on Monday.

There were places for most of the team that ranaway with the 2017-18 Premier League though, with most playing for either Brazil (four) or England (three).

Real Madrid have the next biggest contingent with 15 players going to Russia, just one shy of Man City. Unsurprisingly, the majority will be playing for Spain (six) with Brazil and Croatia also boasting two members each.
