Right-back Benjamin Pavard has been in Munich for four seaons, and understands that his time at Bayern is coming to an end. He is under contract until 2024, and he does not plan to stay after then. That is what 'Sport' claims, anyway.
The Catalan newspaper claims that Pavard has put himself up for sale. And obviously, thanks to his talent, it has not taken long for big clubs to come calling his name. Real Madrid and Barcelona are thought to have space for the defender in their squads.
The Madrid and Catalan sides, according to 'Sport', have supposedly already started asking whether they can convince the defender. Both clubs have reportedly asked Pavard's team if the player would be interested in trying his luck in La Liga, whether it be in Madrid or Barcelona.
'Sport' claim that his exit clause would not cost too much. Pavard has apparently had a few problems with Julian Nagelsmann, so the club may even let him go in January if the right offer came in.
It is not a secret that Barca are looking for a right-back. In fact, it is one of their priorities. Pavard would be what Xavi is looking for, and joins the large list of desired players, with Thomas Meunier as well.
Madrid, on the other hand, would also be interested in signing a defender to cover this role with regards to the 2023-24 season. 'Sport' say that Ancelotti is not looking at Lucas Vazquez, and that the side are looking for someone to fill Carvajal's role, who is close to ending his career.
Meanwhile, Pavard is not concentrated on these rumours. The player has been called up with France for the World Cup, and the first game against Australia is his only worry at the moment. The time will come to think about his future, despite recently giving off that he is open to offers. "Now is the time", he commented before heading off to Qatar.
