The Belgian Romelu Lukaku landed in Milan this Wednesday to finalize his return to Inter on loan and assured that he's "very happy" to return to the club that he won the 'Scudetto' with in 2021.
"I'm very happy to be here", the striker told the media, who were waiting for him in the airport at around 6:30AM.
Lukaku will pass his medical before signing the contract and making his loan official, after a season on the sidelines at Chelsea. The deal will cost 10 million euros, according to local media.
The 29 year-old Belgian international who was a key part of the 2021 'Scudetto', did not end on good terms with Inter's ultras. They felt betrayed by his departure to the London club, as the player himself assured that he would stay at the 'nerazzurri'.
Now, he will be managed by Simone Inzaghi and his former colleagues, who are hoping to be able to also add Paulo Dybala. Giuseppe Marotta, CEO of Inter, said last Monday that contact had been made with the Argentine's agents, but for now, talks are not in a "defining phase".
