Lukaku is very close to returning to Inter. According to Fabrizio Romano, transfer market expert, Inter and Chelsea have reached an agreement over a loan deal for the player. All that is left is for the two clubs to make the agreement official.
This news has gone down quite badly among the 'Curva Nord', who are still hurt by the Belgian's departure last season. The striker, one of the key figuers in the side that won the 'Scudetto', left Italy to join the London side for 113 million euros.
"We have taken note of Lukaku's betrayal and we feel let down. He was supported (and treated) like a king", reads part of the statement put out by Inter's radical fans.
The 'Curva Nord' also wanted to make the following clear: "the 'Curva Nord' supports Inter and will not reject the player. Still, no one from the 'Curva' or any other fan groups will go to welcome him with scarves or banners. Everything that will be done to him in the end will have to be earned on the pitch through humility. What is clear among all of us is that we will never turn against Lukaku if he wears an Inter shirt once again. We trust in the future that we will build together with those who will become part of our 'Nerazzurri' family".
