Xavi Hernandez has 27 players for Wednesday's friendly which will see Barcelona take on Man City, a match in which funds will be collected in the fight against ALS. Former Barcelona assistant coach Juan Carlos Unzue suffers from this disease.
Among the players selected, the presence of Jules Kounde is the highlight. He could make his first start for this new team. The centre-back has still not been registered although he did get 29 minutes against Pumas in the Joan Gamper Trophy.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Memphis Depay, two of the players set to leave the squad to be able to register the former Sevilla man, are also included. Chelsea are continuing to press for the Gabonese and Juventus are doing the same to try and get the Dutchman, but, at the moment, they are both included.
On the other hand, the only two absentees are Samuel Umtiti and Martin Braithwaite. The first is still sorting out an imminent loan move to Lecce while the Dane, who Xavi does not count on either, will have to look for a place in the back end of the market.
The full squad list is the following: Ter Stegen, Dest, Pique, Araujo, Busquets, Dembele, Pedri, Lewandowski, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Memphis, Christensen, Pjanic, Aubameyang, Jordi Alba, Kessie, Sergi Roberto, Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, Kounde, Eric García, Inaki Pena, Abde, Balde, Gavi, Pablo Torre and Arnau Tenas.
Barcelona will wear their third kit, which they announced this Wednesday, for the contest. It will be the first time they play in it.
