Fernando Santos decided to give Joao Felix a rest. The young, Portuguese player only played 20 minutes of the latest Portugal game against Serbia, whilst Guedes and Silva were included from the start.
The Portuguese team still advocates a certain continuity and Santos has continued to give preference to those who have formed the winning block that Portugal has become in recent years.
Because if something the Portuguese combo has it is endless talent. They are not only two mentioned above, but also Diogo Jota, Rafa Silva or Pizzi make up one of the highest quality generations in the country's history.
In spite of all the fans that Felix has got, for much of them it came as a big surprise that he was not in the starting XI, but, once again, as soon as he left the field he fulfilled the expectations.
Now it is expected that every time Felix touches the ball it ends in something good, but Fernando Santos prefers to limit him, also a result of his large number of minutes at Atlético de Madrid.
Portugal's next match will be on Tuesday against Lithuania, We will have to wait and see if the coach gives Joao Felix a chance, or whether he agains uses him as a subsitute and trusts in his same side.
