The World Cup is now over, but people are still talking about the final between France and Argentina which went to penalties (3-3). The South Americans won the trophy and the French narrowly missed out on defending their title.
Argentina versus France left some memorable images. One of them did not go down well with the French. Cristian Romero celebrated the 3-2 goal in Kylian Mbappe's face. The PSG striker later completed his hat-trick to force penalties.
On 'D Sports Radio', the Tottenham player explained why he celebrated in his opponent's face: "I celebrated the goal in his face because Enzo Fenrnadez had spoken to him and he treated him badly."
"It was natural for me to celebrate Leo's goal in Mbappe's face," Cristian Romero added. That was the explanation he gave.
On the rest of the game, the central defender said that he did not watch the penalty shootout. "I only saw Messi's. After that, I didn't see any more because I was on my knees, praying."
