Gonzalo Higuain is one of those players who has left his mark in Europe. His career was always loaded of criticism even at Real Madrid, Napoli and Juventus, where he was more successful. However, the Argentine always responded with goals. Higuain was also at AC Milan and Chelsea.
The Argentine ended his time at Juventus and moved to the USA to sign for Inter Miami, who he has played for since the 2019-20 season. That is where many footballers go before retiring.
An end which seems to be drawing every closer. Higuain's father confirmed in comments to 'TNT' that 2022 will be the last year his son plays professionally.
"I don't see him returning to Argentina. Based on what he said to me, he's going to retire from football at the end of the year, he will finish this season and that's it," he said.
On 10th December he will turn 35 and Higuain will hang up his boots for good after more than 700 matches and a good amount of trophies won. He was a league champions several times in Spain and Italy while he also won the Europa League, two Spanish Super Cups, a Copa del Rey, three Italian Cups and an Italian Super Cup.
