Murray clashed heads with Federico Fernandez and appeared to unconscious for a period of time, before being taken directly to hospital.
However, he has since been discharged after being diagnosed with only a concussion, and he should make a full recovery.
"Thanks for all the well wishes and big thanks to Brighton's medical team and everyone at Newcastle and the RVI hospital," Murray tweeted.
"Feeling much better this morning after yesterday's events." Brighton went on to win the game 1-0, and afterwards manager Chris Hughton allayed the fears over Murray's condition.
"He was out cold. The good news is that he's going to be discharged from hospital this evening and it's nothing more than concussion," Hughton said.
"He's going to be sore for a short while and this week we will do the appropriate things we need to do with him. We are just happy he's okay."
