'France Football' chooses best France side in history

Which is the best ever international side? It is difficult to choose one. Even more so if we are talking about national teams given that they play major tournaments only every two years, whether it be a Euros or a World Cup. But the prestigious magazine 'France Football' is clear which has been the best France side ever.

Roger Lemerre's 2000 team was voted the best ever. Because they won Euro 2000 held in Holland and Belgium which was the end of a golden era which had won the 1998 World Cup in France two years earlier. 

Zidane was a fine player in those days, but the team also had other top players. The likes of Henry, Desailly, Thuram, Blanck, Djorkaedd, Lizarazu.

That generation is very well liked by French fans, even more than the team which won the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
