Bad news for Palmeiras and Felipe Melo. The game against Vasco de Gama saw the midfielder injured his knee, and now he needs surgery.
Felipe Melo went down injured in the game against Vasco da Gama, when Neto Borges challenged him and caught his left leg, fracturing his ankle.
Palmeiras had already made five substitutes, meaning that they had to play the final nine minutes a player down. They ground out a result but paid the price for it.
Melo fractured his ankle and will go under the knife on Monday evening. Palmeiras have announced that he faces three to four months out of action, not returning until 2021.
