Manchester United are well aware their performances this season have been far from consistent. Narrowly escaping Wolves with a 1-0 win their opener, followed by a 0-2 defeat to Tottenham, made their gritty comeback against Nottingham Forest (3-2) all the more nail-biting.
Christian Eriksen was open about the need for improvement, telling the club's website they're "not in the place we wanted to be results-wise" and adding that "we all know that we can, and we want to be, a lot better".
"We will have to work a lot to change and get a better feeling than what we had a few days ago [at Tottenham]", he continued. "Always when you lose, the confidence and the feeling is bad, which it has to be, then it’s up to us to change it".
The Danish midfielder was very positive about the arrival of his compatriot, Rasmus Hojlund, who joined the Red Devils earlier this summer, but is yet to make his debut due to a minor back injury.
The 31-year-old described the newcomer as "a guy who holds his ground", adding "he doesn’t back down from anything. He’s really a front-foot guy, who is aggressive and really attack-minded. But, at the same time, a nice guy outside of football".
Having played in the Premier League for a decade now, Eriksen said he would pass on his experience to Hojlund but acknowledged "he will definitely see it for himself, that the Premier League is different compared to any other league he’s been at before. So he’s going to have to adapt. But I’m sure he will adapt quickly.”
