Cuban international midfielder Dairon Blanco passed away on Monday after being caught up in a car crash.
Blanco, 28, has played at all levels for Cuba including the U17s and U20s.
He was first called up to the senior team of the Gold Cup in 2014 and took part in in the World Cup in 2014.
"This irreparable loss represents a heavy blow to Antillean football and brings grief to the sporting community in general," said the website 'Jit', a publication of the island's National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder).
