Courtois' contract offer has been on the table since the end of last year, and the goalkeeper will be addressing his future plans in the coming weeks.
However, he has suggested that he will be looking for an improved offer, after a strong performance at the World Cup in Russia.
He kept three clean sheets during Belgium's seven matches, two of which were against England.
Courtois has been a regular for Chelsea, but his improved contract, which was offered to him earlier in the year, has not been signed.
The deal is thought to be worth an extra £200,000-a-week.
Courtois has been clear that he will only discuss his future at Chelsea following the conclusion of the World Cup.
According to the 'Guardian' Courtois is settled in London, but his former partner and two children live in Madrid.
Atletico Madrid have looked to bring back Courtois a number of times, following his successful three-year loan stint with the club.
"In this World Cup, I have ignored all the speculation, all the rumours. But now, in the next few days, I will have a chat with my agent and see what Chelsea told him, and then we will talk. But I feel happy at Chelsea, it’s not that I necessarily want to leave. People always complain that players don’t comply with their contracts, but maybe they do. I don’t think they will keep someone with my qualities on the bench, even if I don’t sign [a new contract]. But maybe [staying] is possible, because I like it in London."
Courtois also hinted that if he were to leave Stamford Bridge, so would another Belgian star.
"Wherever I go, Eden must come along," he said. "We will not let each other go. But first, a vacation."
