Spurs managed to bring Chelsea's 13-match winning run to an end with an impressive 2-0 victory thanks to two headed goals from Dele Alli.
After the match, Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen claimed that the win was "up there" with the best he has experienced in his time at White Hart Lane.
"The win is up there," Vertonghen said. "We are building a reputation at the Lane and it feels good to beat the big teams. It’s a good sign that we are progressing well.
"Maybe everyone thought at the start of the season it would be close with the other teams but you see a proper top six now. It means you have to win against your rivals, especially at home, and we’ve done that twice now, beating Manchester City as well. It’s a good feeling and we’re getting stronger and stronger.
"It’s a message to our rivals in a good way – we played very well and didn’t give chances away. We sent a message last year as well, when we were challenging for the title, and hopefully we can do it again now. Teams look at us in a different way in the last two years".
Tottenham sit in third place in the Premier League and are currently seven points behind league leaders Chelsea.
