Kai Havertz, barring a huge surprise, will join Chelsea in the coming days. The Blues have reportedly persuaded Leverkusen by increasing their bid for the promising German.
The last offer was for 80 million euros. 'Bild' says that Chelsea, given that Leverkusen were not backing down, have increased their offer by another 10 million euros, up to 90, including variables.
According to the German paper, Chelsea will pay 76 million euros now and the other 14 based on a series of targets to be reached in the coming seasons.
The bidding war has seen the price shoot up. Chelsea are the only bidders left due to the Bundesliga sides high asking price.
Kai Havertz's market value is 89.9 million euros so Chelsea will get him for basically that amount even though big money moves will not be common place this summer.
