'El Clasico' will be Real Madrid's first La Liga match since the international break after losing their second straight game prior to it. They will not play again in the league until the game at the Camp Nou.
Barca versus Real Madrid is a game which Dani Carvajal has been targeting his return for. It is a meeting which has not taken place for a long time. The right back got injured against Valencia at the Mestalla on 19th September and he has been on the sidelines since then.
The right back, one of the most important players for Real Madrid until a couple of seasons ago, has been affected by injury for quite some time. He made just 15 appearances in the 2020-21 campaign and, despite the fact he has played five so far this term, he has once again had important injury issues.
Carvajal's plan is to return to action, if all goes well, in 'El Clasico' against their biggest rivals. However, he will first have to get the ok from the club's medical team. Ancelotti, who is desperately waiting for his return because of the poor quality of the replacements at right back, will not risk the player if he is not fit.
It is worth remembering that Dani Carvajal missed both encounters with Barcelona in the 2020-21 campaign because of injury issues. Although he has not lost a game against Barca since 2nd March 2019, he has not done particularly well against his biggest rivals. He has won six games, drawn three and lost nine in 18 matches.
