Celta Vigo are determined to sell Maxi Gomez, but will not do so at any price. The footballer has a 50 million euro buyout clause and one of the main parties interested is Barcelona.
The Catalan club have made the first move to try and sign the Uruguayan, According to 'Radio Galega', they have put in an offer of 25 million euros for the striker.
This figure is a lot less than what his buyout clause is set at, but Celta are willing to reduce the price a bit. Club sources told the radio station that the Vigo outfit will not accept less than 40 million.
As Jovic's situation is very complicated at the moment, Luis Suarez's Uruguay teammate is seen as an alternative in order to give Suarez rest throughout the season.
Celta are clear that after Gomez's good season, it is the right time to sell and get some money out of him. Now it is Barcelona's turn to make the next move and they will have to decide whether to up their offer or not.
