Since making his professional debut at the age of 17, Upamecano has gone from strength to strength and is now considered one of the first names on the RB Leipzig teamsheet.
The 19-year-old moved to Germany last year from affiliate club RB Salzburg and is already closing in on 100 professional appearances despite his tender years.
According to 'Telefoot', this combination of youth, talent and experience for his age have made Upamecano a man in demand, with La Liga pacesetters Barcelona prepared to hand over €100m (£87m) to claim his signature.
Whilst an incredible fee for a teenager, it will still be bettered by Kylian Mbappe's £166m permanent move to PSG when that is confirmed this summer, though it would significantly outstrip the £39m Real Madrid will pay for Vinicius Junior and the £36m Manchester United spend on Anthony Martial in 2015.
Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the France U21 international, but with Samuel Umtiti being linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, it is more likely that the Camp Nou will be Upamecano's eventual destination, with reports claiming the player has already verbally agreed to the switch.
