According to 'Sky Sports', Ancelotti has put Morata's name forward as an option up front as he looks to build a side capable of ending Juventus' Serie A dominance.
Ancelotti worked with the Spaniard at Real Madrid and knowns all about his strengths and weaknesses, whilst another of Ancelotti's charges in the Spanish capital has also been linked with a move to Naples in the form of Mariano Diaz.
However, whilst Morata is seen as an option for Napoli, the club are yet to open talks with the 'Blues' over a deal for the player.
At present, Napoli are simply interested, with any official move likely to be dependant on outgoings and Chelsea bringing in a replacement.
