It was no shock to anyone when Sam Allardyce was fired on Wednesday. Despite the English coach steadying the ship at a club that was involved in a relegation scrap when he arrived, fans were unhappy with how 'Big Sam' set up the side in a defensive fashion, and the rumours that he had been let go by Everton surfaced early in the week.
Discussing the termination of his contract on English radio station 'talkSPORT', Allardyce has revealed his disappointment with Everton's conduct, however, saying that it seemed he was one of the last to find out about the club's decision.
"I'm surprised how it came about," he said, when asked about the sacking. "It seemed to be done and dusted through the media before I met Farhad."
Allardyce met with majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri on Wednesday, where he was told he was being fired, but Allardyce feels the media was already aware of his sacking prior to this.
"I think it was out there in the open for a couple of days," he continued. "That leaves you with the certainty of what was going to happen."
"It was slightly disappointing. Who was involved in that I couldn't tell you, but something as delicate as that is something you want to be confidential."
"My meeting with Farhad was amicable. We conducted ourselves amicably but I expressed a disappointment with how it got out. I accept it and move on."
Sam's statements come just a day after Everton were accused by Watford of an 'illegal move' for coach Marco Silva earlier in the season. It seems nobody is happy with the 'Toffees' at the moment.
