The 25-year-old has become one of the world's most talked-about goalkeepers this season, with his Champions League form particularly impressive.
Alisson has kept five clean sheets in a row at home in Europe's premier club competition, shutting out Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Qarabag, Shakhtar Donestsk and Barcelona and he will be looking to extend that run to six in next week's second leg at the Stadio Olimpico.
Liverpool are reportedly just one of a host of clubs considering a move for the stopper, though Roma owuld be expected to demand a world-record fee for their star man.
Who is Alisson?
Alisson is a 25-year-old Brazilian international goalkeeper from Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. He came through the ranks at hometown club Internacional, seeing off stiff competition from older brother Muriel and World Cup winner Dida to become first choice, making over 100 appearances for the club before being snapped up by Roma in 2016.
His first season in the Italian capital was largely spent on the bench as understudy to the on-loan Wojciech Szczesny and playing only in Europe, but when the Pole made the move to Juventus last summer, Alisson was handed the No. 1 shirt and he hasn't looked back.
Alisson has played all but one game for the 'Wolves' this season, making 44 appearances in total and keeping an impressive 20 clean sheets across Serie A and the Champions League.
Whilst a stunning Champions League debut against Atletico Madrid made plenty of headlines, it is his international standing that best highlights how highly he is rated.
Despite Ederson's fine maiden Premier League campaign, Alisson remains Brazil's undisputed No. 1 and was even handed the captain's armband when the 'Seleçao' faced Russia in March.
What sort of a player is he?
In many ways, Alisson is a combination of various different styles. At 6'4" he is tall enough to be dominant in the air, but also retains a high level of agility and impressive reflexes.
As all Brazilians do, he also likes to play with the ball at his feet and is unfazed by pressure from opposition strikers. His proactiveness is also another major asset, with Alisson always quick off his line to see to danger, much like Manuel Neuer of Hugo Lloris.
Former Brazil international Claudio Taffarel belives that he is "technically better than Gianluigi Buffon" and has "the qualities to stay on top and become the best goalkeeper in the world, without a doubt".
