Alexander Hleb made 89 appearances over three years at the Emirates with Chelsea's rivals, Arsenal, before moving to the Campo Nou with Barcelona.
He stayed there for four seasons, however only made 19 appearances as a squad player. His career has since been rather nomadic.
Since leaving Barcelona he has changed clubs an impressive twelve times, as he is currently enjoying his fifth spell with BABE Borisov.
Hleb spoke about Guardiola and his career to 'FourFourTwo' prior to the Europa League clash.
"He tried to give me advice on how to integrate, suggesting I should take Spanish lessons so I could properly communicate with the team," Hleb said.
"At the time, I thought he was the problem and couldn't see it from a different point of view. But now I can say that it was me. I was the problem. If I'd done everything Guardiola asked of me, I would have played more and enjoyed my time at the club.
"People always ask me why I departed (Arsenal) but it’s hard to explain. don’t know why. I also ask myself why I left."
Hleb was part of Barcelona squad which won the treble, however he did not play in the final.
