FT: Manchester City 7-0 Schalke - A sublime performance from Pep Guardiola's side, who stroll into the quarter-finals with consumate ease. Goals from Aguero (2), Sane, Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Foden and Jesus gave City a huge victory, and gave Schalke a scoreline to forget.
  • 90'
ZERO minutes of added time! Wow. The referee must feel sorry for Schalke.
  • 89'
The game's almost at walking pace now. Too easy for the hosts.
  • 86'
    10-2 on aggregate. That's quite a scoreline.
  • 85 '
GOOOAAALL FOR MAN CITY!! They're absolutely running riot here! Gabriel Jesus gets in on the act, bending in a lovely effort from the edge of the area.
  • 82'
Guardiola's looking a bit more relaxed now.
  • 78 '
GOOOAAALL FOR MAN CITY!! Leroy Sane slides the ball through for Phil Foden, who rounds the goalkeeper before tapping the ball into an empty net. 6-0!
  • 75'
It's been an absolute stroll in the park for City since that opening goal. Very impressive performance.
  • 75'
It's been an absolute stroll in the park for City since that opening goal. Very impressive performance.
  • 72 '
Aymeric Laporte makes way for Fabian Delph. That's all Manchester City's changes made, and we still have the best part of 20 minutes still to play!
  • 70 '
GOOOAALL FOR MAN CITY!! This is becoming embarassing! Sane gets in between the lines on the left and cuts back to Bernardo Silva, who guides the ball into the bottom-right corner.
  • 68 '
Schalke winger Breel Embolo is off, with Steven Skrzybski coming on to replace him. And yes, that name took me five minutes to type correctly.
  • 65'
The home side are in complete control here. I wouldn't rule out a few more goals.
  • 62 '
Sergio Aguero and David Silva come off, with Gabriel Jesus and Phil Foden replacing them. Fine performance from both City veterans.
  • 59'
This game has been brutal for Schalke. After a slow opening half an hour, City have been absolutely relentless.
  • 55 '
Goooaaalll for Man City!! Sane crosses for Sterling, who fires first time into the roof of the net. The goal is initially ruled out for offside, but VAR shows Sterling was onside and the goal is given. 4-0!
  • 53'
MAN CITY DISALLOWED GOAL - David Silva slips Sane in on goal, and the German tucks the ball away. The linesman and VAR, both agree it was offside, however.
  • 50'
MAN CITY CHANCE - David Silva flashes a low shot across goal, but it flies just wide.
  • 47'
    Tough half ahead for Schalke.
  • 46'
    And we're back underway!
  • 45'
HT: Manchester City 3-0 Schalke (6-2 on agg) - Three goals in the space of eight minutes give City a commanding lead in this leg and the tie overall. Sergio Aguero put the hosts in front with a penalty before doubling his tally four minutes later, and Leroy Sane coolly added a third. The visitors have struggled to create a single clear-cut chance so far, and this is fast looking a hopeless case for them.
  • 45'
MAN CITY CHANCE - Some beautiful link-up play between Gundogan and Sterling nearly unlocks Schalke again, but the Englishman's low drive is thwarted by Fahrmann.
  • 44'
Well that was a hectic few minutes. Surely that's the tie over now!
  • 42 '
GOOOAAALL FOR MAN CITY!! Another one! Leroy Sane is slipped in on the left-hand side of the penalty area and the German makes no mistake, slotting calmly into the far corner of the goal to further punish his former club. 6-2 on aggregate now, is that game over?
  • 38 '
GOOOAALL FOR MAN CITY!! Sterling dribbles down the right and cuts back to Aguero, who stabs a shot at goal. It goes through Fahrmann and into the net. The referee checks with VAR, which appeared to show Sterling was slightly offside, but a goal is given anyway.
  • 35'
And of course, 4-2 to them on aggregate. Mountain to climb for Schalke now. Then again, it's far from impossible.
  • 34 '
GOOOAALL FOR MAN CITY!! Aguero takes it, and embarasses Fahrmann with a panenka penalty. Very cheeky. 1-0 to the hosts!

Yellow card

  • 33 '
Bruma is given a yellow card for his troubles.
  • 33 '
PENALTY FOR MAN CITY! Schalke's Jeffrey Bruma is penalised for pulling David Silva to the ground as the pair battled to get on the end of a Gundogan cross.
  • 30'
MAN CITY CHANCE - The free-kick bounces around the penalty area before eventually landing on Aguero's head, but the Argentine sends his header straight at Fahrmann.
  • 29'
City win a free-kick on the left again. Ilkay Gundogan to take...
  • 26'
Pep Guardiola's absolutely manic on the touchline. You can tell this match means a lot to him!
  • 23'
City back on the ball now though. They look to be in no rush as they calmly pass the ball around in defence.
  • 19'
Schalke attacking for the first time in the match. They've forced a couple of corners during this spell.
  • 16'
I was wrong - Sane fires it in with his right foot. It hits the wall and flies into the air, but French referee Clement Turpin calls play back for a foul to Schalke. Sterling was backing into Fahrmann apparently.
  • 15'
City have a free-kick out on the left. Looks like it will be David Silva to whip it into the box...
  • 13'
MAN CITY CHANCE - Sterling bursts down the right flank and squares for Sergio Aguero, who inexplicably misses what was effectively an open goal. That's not like him! Incredibly, we're still goalless.
  • 11'
Lots of City's attacks are coming down the left flank, where ex-Schalke man Leroy Sane is stationed. He scored a wonder free-kick in the last leg, can he have a similar impact today?
  • 8'
Manchester City dominating possession early on. Schalke have been penned back in their own half for most of this one, but they'll have to come out of their shell at some point, given they trail in the tie.
  • 5'
Schalke's fans are having a good bounce around in the away end. They look like they're going to enjoy the night regardless of the result.
  • 2'
MAN CITY CHANCE - Raheem Sterling dribbles down the right and fires a shot at Ralf Fahrmann straight away, but Schalke's goalkeeper saves well.
  • 1'
And we're off! Manchester City get the game underway.

Manchester City lead this tie 3-2 as we head into the second leg, but Schalke caused today's hosts real problems two weeks ago. Failure here would be disastrous for Pep Guardiola, who has so far failed to get past the quarter-finals of the Champions League during his time with City.
  • PRVW
The away fans are making a big impression in Manchester!
