First it was the Portuguese coach who had shown his interest in the Marseille job. "It is one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Obviously, it is something which interests me," assured Villas-Boas.
Now it is the club which have planned to offer the coach the post, according to 'L'Équipe'. The Portuguese is the number one priority for Zubizarreta to arrive on the Marseille bench.
Villas-Boas has been unemployed since the end of 2017, when he left Shanghai SIPG. Since then, the ex-Porto and Chelsea coach, amongst others, has not managed any club.
And his return could precisely be at Marseille. It was Rudi Garcia who announced, in the press room, that he and the club would part company this summer.
