Now Barcelona have secured second spot in La Liga, the club are working on signings for next season.
They are looking to strengthen their squad for the 2022-23 season as they aim to win trophies again. Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen's moves are assured, but there are several other names on the table.
As far as the defence is concerned, an area where Barca have suffered most this term, Xavi likes two centre-backs who could move to the Catalan giants, 'Mundo Deportivo' reports.
One of those is Jules Kounde. The Frenchman has not been as good as he was last term. It is as if not leaving last summer is playing on his mind.
Despite that, Xavi really likes him because of how he plays the ball out from the back and his versatility. He can play at right-back if required.
However, Xavi likes Kalidou Koulibaly even more. The Napoli centre-back's contract expires in 2023 and negotiations with Aurelio de Laurentiis are always difficult.
It is for that reason that getting Kounde seems a more viable option. Time has started ticking and Barca are already planning for the 2022-23 campaign.
