Barcelona won, with a very tight result, but they won. The blaugranas beat Dynamo Kiev 1-0 with a goal from Gerard Pique to get their first win of the season in the Champions League.
Ramon Planes, the club's technical secretary, saw this result as very positive ahead of the upcoming clash against Real Madrid: "We are coming into 'El Clasico' well because we have just won two difficult games, Valencia and Dynamo, and that will give us confidence".
The manager acknowledged that the Catalans suffered despite being the better side on the pitch. "We had a lot of chances to score, but when we didn't convert them, that made us end up with a certain nervousness," he said to the Barca TV cameras.
However, Planes added that the team "did a lot of things well and moved the ball patiently". He also described Pique as a player "with a lot of leadership" and that "he has a knack for scoring goals, especially when they are important chances".
