Potter took over Ostersunds in 2011 when they were in the Swedish fourth division and under his management they have experienced a meteoric rise. Now playing in the top tier, last week he led them out against Arsenal in the Europa League, after winning the Swedish Cup last year.
Potter is a former player for the 'Baggies' and he has linked up with Key Sports Management, a UK based agency, hinting at his determination to break into the Premier League.
The 42-year-old has been courted by Football League clubs before but has always maintained his commitment to Ostersunds, from a small town in northern Sweden.
Potter's next aim for the club is Champions League qualification and as such, he could only be tempted away by a club with credible Premier League potential.
Pardew has not managed to improve West Brom's results, and the fact that they are seven points from safety at the bottom of the Premier League could be the deal breaker for Potter. As a result the 'Baggies' could soon be searching elsewhere as the pressure on Pardew grows following disciplinary issues and an FA Cup loss to Southampton.
