Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic said after losing 2-1 at the Metropolitano that at half-time, 2-0 down, he told his players to calm down and show what they are capable of in the second half, while remarking that the door is still "open" to reach the Champions League semi-finals.
"It was a game with a lot of emotions. We struggled. We were nervous and conceded two easy goals in the first half. Afterwards, we managed to correct the situation and, in the second half, we showed that we could get into the game," said the coach at the press conference.
"I spoke to the players at half-time and told them to calm down. Then we managed to score. We didn't manage to equalise, but we had the result that still keeps the doors open to the semi-finals and, after the game against 'Gladbach, we will wait for Atletico," he added.
"In the second half, to perform with more confidence, we had to speed up the game. In the first half, we didn't play well. We brought on Brandt, who gave freshness to the team. He did very well," said the coach, who was not surprised by Atletico.
"They played with a lot of courage and heart, very offensive at the beginning. They did very well. We know their quality and Morata and Griezmann didn't lose any balls. Unlike our team, we have a lot of young players who are in the Champions League for the first time," he said.
