The La Liga president, Javier Tebas, was very happy with Pedro Sanchez's decision to allow football to return the week beginning 8th June.
"We are very happy with the decision, but it is thanks to the great work done by the clubs, players, coaches, the Spanish Sports Council (CSD) and others," he told 'Marca'.
He made clear the need to keep on taking precautions: "It's very important to stick to the health rules and we must not take our foot off the gas."
The Spanish Sports Council (CSD) also commented on the resumption, announced this Saturday by Spain's Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez.
"Professional competitions are returning. From the week beginning 8th June and thanks to all those involved in the world of football. They have always followed the health secretary's instructions. Thank you," the CSD said.
They said that "many people have worked hard for this," and they gave a "special thanks" to the Spanish FA, La Liga, the player's association (AFE) and the Government's Health and Culture departments, amongst others.
