According to reports in the Italian press, and mainly 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Manchester United are willing to spend £40m on Roma's Belgian international Radja Nainggolan. This comes just hours after the English press claimed that Nainggolan featured higher up on United boss Jose Mourinho's hit list that Nemanja Matic, who is reportedly close to signing for the Old Trafford club.
The pair are said to be valued at around the same mark by their respective clubs (£40m) and given that both players are approaching 30, it has been suggested that they would both be free to leave for the right price.
Matic is a known quantity to Mourinho, with the pair having worked together at Chelsea, though there is a felling that Nainggolan would give United more dynamism in midfield than Matic.
According to the 'Daily Mail', the Belgian turned down a move to Chelsea last summer, though it looks like he may get another chance to make the switch to the Premier League.
