England right-back Kieran Trippier admitted that, despite beating Iran 6-2, there are still things to improve, starting with himself considering that he gave away "a lot of balls".
The winger was playing well on the right flank and with free-kicks too, and he helped England to start the World Cup with victory.
"There were moments in the game where we know we can improve, myself included, because I gave away a lot of balls. You've got to enjoy these three points and think already about the next game", Trippier said to the BBC.
"Winning the first game is always important. We wanted to get a step ahead and be clinical in the moments that mattered. It's now time to rest and recover", he added.
"You've seen the players we've got, the attack, those coming off the bench and those playing well from the start. We've got a lot of quality in this team, but you've got to enjoy it. We can enjoy the win, but there are still things to improve and we've got to focus on the USA", he said.
Trippier congratulated England's youngsters for the way they played and for "the amount of work" they have done, because they have been able to have an experience like this "so young".
"I'm 32 and I enjoy every game whether I play or not. I'm always going to be ready", he said.
