Trigueros sent off after nearly breaking Messi's leg!

Manu Trigueros got a straight red card in Villarreal's loss to Barcelona after a bad challenge on Lionel Messi. His studs caught him on his leg, above the Argentine's ankle. Messi was in pain, but was able to continue.

Manu Trigueros made Barca fans very worried for a few moments. Even though him getting sent off was good news for Barca, he could have seriously injured Messi.

The Villarreal midfielder caught Leo Messi on his left leg with his studs and the Argentine was in pain.

He was down on the ground for a minute and clearly in pain. Trigueros tried to get the ball off him. Despite making contact with the ball first, his follow through caught Messi with his studs showing.

The referee pulled out the red card and Messi was able to get up and carry on shortly afterwards, much to the relief of his teammates.
