TEAM NEWS:
Tottenham Hotspur:
After making the best start to a league season in the entire history of the club, Pochettino's men will head into this encounter with great belief that they can claim the local bragging rights.
Once more, Tottenham will host the game at Wembley stadium, as their new home ground is yet to be ready. However, it seems as though, in the face of such disruption and adversity, Tottenham have managed to press on and make progress.
Manager Pochettino has been left sweating on the fitness of a few key players ahead of the match; Davinson Sanchez faces a late fitness test after overcoming a hamstring injury, while Kieran Trippier is also a doubt for the fixture.
Long term absentees Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele continue to struggle with respectuve knocks and will therefore have to sit out of this particular clash.
Chelsea:
One of the final three unbeaten teams left in the division, Chelsea also head into this clash with nothing to fear, as they look to continue Maurizzio Sarri's fine start to life in England.
The Italian manager is yet to taste defeat so far after 18 matches played in all competitions. Yet perhaps the accolade for his most impressive victory to date, would surely be recorded this weekend, if his team manage to overcome a free flowing and potent Tottenham side.
Buoyed by the news of a long term contract extension for World Cup winner N'Golo Kante in midweek, Chelsea will hope to end a wretched recent run of results against their capital rivals.
In stark contrast to their hosts, visitors Chelsea can bost an almost clean bill of health. There is a possibility that Mateo Kovacic could be absent for this encounter after having to miss Croatia's Nations League defeat to England on Sunday, however it is only a small muscle injury.
The only other absentee for the guests is youngster Ethan Ampadu, who was injured when playing for Wales during the international break. Although this is not an urgent concern, as he was unlikely to feature in such a high profile game.
PRE-MATCH MUSINGS...
Pochettino on counterpart Sarri, Stadiums and Signings:
“They are doing very well with Sarri this season, still unbeaten. This season, they are competing in the Europa League and it’s completely different for Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool or us because we’re competing in the Champions League. It’s a completely different competition.”
"I am not worried that it [damages form] and when the stadium is ready we are going to move. Only if the chairman changes the idea. But my idea is to move as soon as possible"
"Eriksen and Tottenham, and Tottenham and Eriksen, is a very good mix. We’re not worried. In football I’m never worried. But I prefer that he’s going to sign the new contract and spend a long time with Tottenham. "
Sarri on Kante's contract and 'Spurs' style:
"'I am very, very happy with the new contract. I am very pleased for him and it’s very important news I think."
"They play very good football. They are very dangerous on set-pieces, on short counter-attacks. They are a technical team and… from a physical point of view they are a strong team."
FORM GUIDE:
DID YOU KNOW?
Tottenham have won 3 of the last 7 meetings between the sides, matching the amount of wins that they had achived in the last 49 fixtures against their London rivals.
While Chelsea have only picked up 2 wins in their last 12 away matches against 'Spurs', the most recent of these wins was the 'Blues' 2-1 victory at Wembley last August.
If 'Spurs' win, it will be their first set of consecutive league wins against the 'Blues' since 1987.
