Much of the talk before the game had centred on the return of one man - Derby manager Frank Lampard - but there were two others who were also coming back to west London.
Mason Mount and Tomori are both on loan at the 'Rams' from Chelsea, and they were both put into the starting lineup by Lampard after being given permission to play against Chelsea.
However, Tomori got off to the worst possible start. Attempting to clear Zappacosta's cross from the right, he inadvertently diverted it into the far corner.
Luckily for the defender, Derby were soon back on level terms. Jack Marriott restored parity minutes after Tomori's nightmare moment.
Gary Cahill's pass was picked off by former England midfielder Tom Huddlestone, who drove forward and played a fantastic reverse pass into Marriot who finished with aplomb into the bottom corner.
