The latest rumours place Paul Pogba in Italy, returning to a Juventus side featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, once again backed by a club he knows well.
But in recent hours the Frenchman's interest in playing alongside Zinedine Zidane has resurfaced, and his possible arrival at Real Madrid is once again making headlines.
According to 'The Sun', the Frenchman's main reason to go to the Madrid capital is the opportunity to work under the renowned player-turned coach, although his contract with the English reaches until June of 2021.
Pogba's desire to work under Zizou is not new. In fact, it has always been the main reason for his hypothetical arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"Pogba's priority is to leave United and sign for Madrid this summer with his friend Zidane," reads the English newspaper, which rules out the possibility that Old Trafford will finally fulfil their goal of renewing the highly-rated French midfielder.
"Paul grew up with Zidane as his hero and would like to play for him at some point in his career. He could have played for Real Madrid already, but felt he had unfinished business in Manchester. Paul has a similar style of action to Zidane and much of what he progressed as a footballer was learned from 'Zizou'," the British newspaper added.
