Liverpool hosted the runaway Premier League leaders at Anfield and they were off to a perfect start after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain unleashed a superb effort.

Manchester City's poor Anfield form looked set to continue after the Reds took the lead inside the first ten minutes.

The City back line failed to close down Oxlade-Chamberlain as he drove forward and drilled a fine ball into the low corner. Ederson stretched but could not keep it out.
