The heir is finally back. After a few minutes of acclimatisation against Mallorca, Ansu Fati was again important for Barcelona for the first time in almost four months. Xavi Hernandez introduced him against Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin and he scored as soon as he came on the pitch.
The youngster controlled the ball in front of Rui Silva's box, who had replaced Claudio Bravo due to injury, quickly curled the ball past the keeper with a shot that was not quite accurate, but perfectly placed at one of the goalkeeper's posts. Between defenders, the ball found its way into the back of the net.
It was his first goal since 12th January, when he scored in the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid. A few days later, he was on the pitch against Athletic and was injured again. There began the path that has led him, now, to be back in the scorers' lists in the Barcelona team.
It is curious that, although it has been speculated for weeks that Ansu Fati would not have time to be decisive this season with Barcelona, the truth is that he appeared in a key role against Real Betis. Unfortunately for him and his side, however, the Andalusians soon made it 1-1 with a Marc Bartra header.
