Real Madrid splashed out on bringing Thibaut Courtois to the club from Chelsea, just weeks after he had won the World Cup's golden glove award with Belgium.
As a result of the transfer and the reputation the Belgian had built at Chelsea, many assumed that the writing was on the wall for Keylor Navas.
Despite that, Navas started the firest few games of the season in the UEFA Super Cup and LaLiga, meaning that Courtois had to wait until the match against Leganes to make his Madrid.
With the competition in the Madrid goal clearly very intense, the coach seeked to play down how important it actually was.
"The goalkeepers are fantastic and good competitors, it's normal. Things are a lot simpler than people on the outside would make out. I'm thrilled with the work the three lads are putting in" Lopetegui said ahead of his side p[laying Espanyol on Saturday.
