The finances behind Arthur's move to Barcelona

The midfielder agreed a deal with Barcelona back in March, but he was initially scheduled to join the Spanish side in January. Barca have now agreed a deal to bring the move forward to this summer, and according to 'Sport', his current team Gremio Porto Alegre will receive a total of €32.8m in compensation. 

The aforementioned outlet that the initial deal was worth €30m, however Barcelona have added another €2.8m onto the bill by bringing the deal forward to July. 

Of this €32.8m, Barcelona have already paid €4m. They put this sum up months ago, when the initial deal was first sealed.

The player himself was the one who told the media that Barca had asked to bring the move forward. Gremio is now history for the Brazilian, but he has made it clear that he is grateful to them for everything.
