According to 'Sport,' contract renewal negotiations between Barca and Umtiti have stalled. Having performed at the highest level, the young centre-back is fed up of being the lowest earner in the starting XI.
The Frenchman wants his salary to increase from €4 million a year to €9 million - the offer he reportedly has from Manchester United that equates to more than double his current wage.
Umtiti is therefore asking Barca to match Mourinho's proposal. If not, he'll start listening to offers elsewhere - of which there haven't been few.
With two years still on his contract at the Camp Nou, the centre-back's buy-out clause isn't astronomical: €60 million. When you look at inflation in the market, the priectag could be very tempting for other titan clubs.
