Hendrie told 'Sky Sports News': ''Since he [Terry] has come into the Aston Villa fold, having someone of his experience and knowledge, he has been absolutely superb. He's been like a Rolls-Royce at times - he reads the game so well, his last-ditch challenges.''
''He has come under scrutiny for a few goals they have conceded but overall I think he has been a really key player in that Villa structure and he's passed down a lot of knowledge to the younger lads in that Villa squad.''
Terry has enjoyed an illustrious career both a club and international level, but it is his experience at Wembley that will stand Aston Villa in good stead as they battle Fulham in the Championship play-offs.
However, Hendrie thinks that former England defender's biggest asset is his ability to adapt. He said: ''Terry has fitted in so well at Aston Villa, not just on the pitch but off the pitch as well.''
He concluded: ''The fans absolutely adore him...and they can see how much he puts his body on the line for this football club.''
