Superstar Griezmann yet to take a trophy with Atletico

Atletico managed to turn the tide spectacularly after the Qatar World Cup. In 2023, the 'Colchoneros' have bagged 51 points, as many as champions Barcelona, and there is one man in particular they have to thank for that: Antoine Griezmann.

The Frenchman has a season of stunning statistics, putting away 16 goals and providing 18 assists in all competitions. No one has contributed to more goals in La Liga this season than the French international. He was chosen as Atletico's best player by the fans this season.

But looking at his record with the club, the World Cup runner-up has not won anything since his return to Madrid. His only trophy with the 'Rojiblancos' are a Spanish Super Cup in 2014 and a Europa League and European Super Cup in 2018. 

The former Barcelona player is well aware that he is lacking silverware with the club, saying, "I really wanted to help the team. I had a great World Cup, a great second half of the season, and in terms of goals and assists, I think they're among the best I've ever had, so I'm very happy with my performances, but I'm still missing a few titles". 

The French international is under contract with the Atletico until 2026, so he still has a few more seasons to try and take some titles home.
