Rayo were due to play Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, but that game has now been postponed to a later date following the news.
It comes after fans at the match against Sevilla last week complained about the state of the Vallecas stadium. Following a meeting between LaLiga officials, the decision was taken to close the ground.
Rayo were promoted to the Spanish top division from Segunda following a two-year absence, and the ground was renovated over the summer as a result.
However, in the season opener, many fans complained of dust, debris and poles visibly sticking out in some areas.
"La Liga will work to find a solution that suits all parties for the upcoming matches," the league said in a statement.
Options include moving the games elsewhere, although stadium choices are limited. Atletico Madrid are already sharing their Wanda Metropolitano with Rayo Majadahonda in the Segunda, while the capacity at nearby Leganes would prohibit that from being used. Getafe remains the most likely although Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu has also been mentioned.
