After avoiding relegation by a hair in last season's Premier League campaign, Southampton are on the hunt for new blood to improve their fortunes in 18/19.
Mark Hughes is seemingly targeting defensive replacements, and is close to signing two new players.
The first is Angus Gunn, Manchester City's 22-year-old goalkeeper. The shotstopper, who spent last season on loan at Norwich, will reportedly join the Saints for an initial fee of £10m plus £3.5m in add-ons.
With Alex McCarthy recently signing a new deal at the club, the approach for Gunn seems to suggest that Fraser Forster will leave the club this summer.
Southampton have also reportedly agreed a £18m fee for Danish defender Jannik Vestergaard, who currently belongs to Borussia Monchengladbach. The 25-year-old will now agree personal terms, and both deals could be wrapped up within the week.
