Real Sociedad managed to get one of the best deals of last summer. The Basque club reached an agreement with Real Madrid to get Martin Odegaard on loan for two seasons.
However, the footballer's good performances have made Real Madrid think about calling him back for the 2020-21 campaign.
Aperribay, the Real Sociedad president, hopes Real Madrid stick to their word and give Martin Odegaard another year at Real Sociedad.
"We are very hopeful he can stay with us," the president told 'El Diario Vasco'.
Another of Aperribay's objectives is to see fans in the Reale Arena this season. "Real Sociedad have worked on bringing fans back to La Liga, 30% capacity, 50% capacity and then a full Anoeta," he admitted.
"Real Sociedad will feel the affects of the crisis because it has come during an important time as the stadium is being modernised, but, fortunately, we have our economy in order and a young team with a bright future," he continued.
"We are perhaps one of the Spanish clubs in the best health financially speaking. The uncertainty is more not knowing how this pandemic could affect European competitions next season and the impact it could have on the transfer market."
