Robins see Adelakun bid rejected

Adelakun caught the eye in League One last season, scoring five and laying on 14 in 49 appearances in all competitions.

Hull, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers are all thought to be keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, who is out of contract next month.

However, due to his age and having come through the academy at Glanford Park after joining as a 16-year-old, the 'Iron' will be due compensation should he depart, with Bristol City attempting to come to an agreement over a fee rather than allow the issue to go to a tribunal.

That effort has fallen flat though, with Scunthorpe rejecting City's opening gambit. It remains to be seen if they will return with an improved offer.

Adelakun has made a total of 169 appearances for Scunthorpe, scoring 20 goals.
