Roberto Martinez will not become Everton manager again, at least not for now. The Belgium boss has turned down joining the Toffees after Rafa Benitez's sacking.
The English club asked both the Belgian FA and the coach about whether he would be available to join the club immediately, but their request has been rejected, 'Het Laatste Nieuws' reports.
The Spanish coach knows the Everton bench because the Toffees coach between 2013 and 2016 when he left lovely memories amongst fans.
That said, Roberto Martinez was not the only candidate to occupy the post of Rafa Benitez. Rudi Garcia, Frank Lampard or Wayne Rooney also appear as candidates.
