On Friday, Rennes sacked their president Olivier Létang. According to 'L´Équipe', everything had to do with the possible sale of Camavinga to Real Madrid.
The aforementioned source assured that Léyang intended to sell Eduardo Camavinga to Los Blancos. The Frenchman is one of the biggest French future prospects.
The now ex-Rennes president even started to speak with Real Madrid to sell the player in the summer. And he did so without the knowledge of the shareholders, which ended in his sacking.
Létang was willing to let their 17-year-old star leave. This provoked the anger of Rennes owner Francois-Henri Pinault at the time.
At just 17, Camavinga has caught the attention of the big teams in Europe. Not just Real Madrid are following him, but also Manchester City and Borrusia Dortmund, amongst others.
Létang was sacked, and Rennes are now looking for a new president. From France, they are assuring that Arsene Wenger is one of the big favourites to get the job.
