"I saw that Shaqiri wanted it, so I went for it, but then I saw Divock. He was alone in the middle of the area and thought, why not," said Trent Alexander-Arnold, who delivered the famous corner.
Origi spoke next. He finished off the play. "I looked back and felt that something might be happening. Then the ball came to me and I got myself together in a second," said the Belgian.
It is perhaps lucky that Origi didn't aim the ball at Shaqiri from the corner: "I didn't even know what had happened. I was at the top of the area and I saw the ball fly past," said the Dutch centre-back.
The final word went to the hero of the night, a Divock Origi who scored the most important goal of his career in that match.
"I'd practiced that shot before," he said.
